The Kuala Lumpur World Marching Band Competition 2009 will be held from 12th to 20th December 2009. More than 20 bands from all over the world, including Malaysia, will be vying for the various honors this year.

To kick-start, we are currently looking for enthusiastic individual who can help us on making the event better than ever by taking part in our volunteers program. There will be a training session for volunteers and newcomers. Best of all, during the event all the meals, accommodation and allowances will be provided by the organizer.

The training session details are as followed:

Date: Throughout the November 2009 (Every Saturday)
Time: 9am-2pm
Venue: Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur

HP FINEST Roadshow - Everyone's invited

Fuh, terasa penat semalam apabila aku bersusah payah dari rumah ke One Utama Shopping Complex semata-mata untuk menghadiri majlis jalanan (roadshow) yang dianjurkan oleh HP. Dalam cuaca hujan yang pada mulanya turun secara ‘manja’, tiba-tiba ‘badai’ melanda. Sudahlah tayar motorsikal aku tidak seberapa berbunga lagi membuatkan aku terpaksa membonceng lebih berhati-hati.

Aku sampai di parking One Utama pada pukul 4.20 petang (agak-agak saja). Lalu aku terus memasuki ruang legar kompleks membeli-belah berkenaan dalam keadaan kebasahan kerana aku sempat mandi hujan ketika menuju ke pintu hadapan bangunan terbabit. Kemudiannya, aku menuju ke roadshow yang betul-betul berhadapan dengan butik FCUK. Pada mulanya aku agak kebingungan kerana pelanggan di roadshow berkenaan tidak sebegitu ramai. Namun, aku cuba mendapatkan seorang promoter untuk bertanyakan mengenai penebusan atau redeem barangan eksklusif daripada HP dan beliau memberitahu kepada aku bahawa kaunter penebusan terletak di bahagian depan.

Aku berjalan meninggalkan promoter berkenaan dan kini mata aku tertumpu kepada sebuah papan tanda “REDEMPTION COUNTER“. Di sana, terdapat empat orang promoter sedang menunggu pelanggan yang ingin menebus barangan eksklusif daripada HP. Aku memberikan tiga e-mel yang telah dicetak dan turut dibawa untuk proses cabutan bertuah. Seorang promoter lelaki mengangkat sebuah balang kaca yang mana di dalamnya terdapat beberapa biji bola pingpong. Setiap bola pingpong berkenaan telah dituliskan nombor tertentu untuk mewakili barangan eksklusif yang bakal diperolehi oleh pelanggan.

Promoter berkenaan memberi aku peluang untuk mengambil tiga biji bola pingpong yang terdapat di dalam balang kaca berkenaan. Keputusannya, aku mendapat dua biji bola pingpong bernomborkan 6 dan sebiji bola pingpong bernomborkan 2. Bagi bola pingpong bernombor 6, barangan eksklusif yang berjaya aku perolehi adalah dua buah cawan plastik dan dua batang pen HP. Manakala bagi bola pingpong bernombor 2, barangan eksklusif yang aku perolehi adalah sebuah botol air (mungkin edisi terhad) dan juga sebatang pen HP. Aku tidak sempat untuk memandang barangan-barangan eksklusif lain yang terdapat di roadshow berkenaan kerana aku tidak mahu membazirkan masa di situ.

Kesimpulannya, bagi sesiapa yang mahu mendapatkan barangan eksklusif daripada HP ini, bolehlah melawat laman web Facebook mereka di www.facebook.com/personalagain. Breast cancer is a malignant (cancerous) growth that begins in the tissues of the breast. Cancer is a disease in which abnormal cells grow in an uncontrolled way. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, but it can also appear in men. In the U.S., it affects one in eight women.

The most common types of breast cancer are:

• ductal carcinoma (85 – 90% of all cases)
• lobular carcinoma (8% of all cases)

Invasive (Infiltrating) Breast Cancer
Invasive, or infiltrating, breast cancer has the potential to spread out of the original tumor site and invade other parts of your breast and body. There are several types and subtypes of invasive breast cancer.

Less common are:

• inflammatory breast cancer (occurs in the skin)
• Paget’s disease of the nipple

What is it Paget’s disease of the nipple? Here’s the details:
Paget’s disease of the nipple or breast is a rare type of breast cancer, which can occur in women and men. It shows up in and around the nipple, and usually signals the presence of breast cancer beneath the skin. Most cases are found in menopausal women, but can also appear in women that are as young as 20. The disease is named for Sir James Paget. He reported on the link between changes in the nipple and the underlying breast cancer.

Symptoms of Breast Cancer:

• a lump or a thickening in the breast or in the armpit
• a change of size or shape of the mature breast
• fluid (not milk) leaking from the nipple
• a change of size or shape of the nipple
• a change of color or texture of the nipple or the areola, or of the skin of the breast itself (dimples, puckers, rash)

If You Have Breast Pain

Early stages of breast cancer may not cause any pain or discomfort. Having a regular mammogram and a clinical breast exam by your health professional can help you understand changes in your breasts. Doing your breast self-exam can help you keep track of regular monthly changes.

Remember, many lumps and rashes are benign (not cancerous) and can respond well to proper treatment. If you experience any symptoms that cause you concern, see your doctor.

Treatments for breast cancer, as well as survival rates, are improving. Early detection and medical help is critical to improving the chances of living beyond a diagnosis of breast cancer.
